About Our Garden Design Practice

We've spent over a decade helping urban residents transform neglected outdoor spaces into verdant retreats. Our team combines horticultural knowledge with design sensibility to create gardens that work within real-world constraints.

How We Work

Most urban gardens fail because they're designed for idealized conditions rather than the reality of limited soil, challenging microclimates, and constrained maintenance schedules.

We start every project by spending time in your space at different times of day. We observe sun patterns, note drainage issues, assess wind exposure, and understand how you actually use the area. Only then do we begin sketching concepts.

This observational approach means fewer surprises during installation and gardens that genuinely thrive rather than requiring constant intervention.

Design Philosophy

We believe small gardens should feel generous, not cramped. This requires careful layering, strategic sight lines, and plant selection that provides year-round interest without overwhelming the space.

Rather than following passing trends, we design spaces that complement the architecture they adjoin and reflect how you'll actually use them. A terrace used primarily for morning coffee demands different treatment than one intended for evening entertaining.

We also prioritize sustainability by selecting perennials over annuals, specifying peat-free growing media, and designing efficient irrigation systems that minimize water waste.
